Fixing Bunched Locs

So yesterday I was playing in my hair, as per usual, and came across a few bumpy, thick locs! At first i thought, maybe it's budding, but upon closer inspection I saw that my locs were all bunched *sad face* I didn't know how I was going to fix them, but I knew they were going to get fixed! So, I took a paper clip and unfolded it and went to work! Below is the progress:

These are close-ups of a couple of my bunched locs:

After I picked the hair out with a paperclip, this is what my hair looked like:

These are my locs, interlocked back together:

It was crazy to see how much my hair has grown! Plus, it was nice to play in my loose hair, even if it were only for a few minutes!

So that's it! Still loving my hair, but ofcourse and excited to see two more at the front, top of my head looking like they are trying to loc, FABULOUS!

Bantu Knots Comparison

So I just did my hair for the evening in bantu knots and noticed as I was doing them, I had to put alot more in since my hair was getting real thick! *happy face* I decided to take a picture and was elated to find I had taken a picture of my bantu knots in October! Below are the comparison shots:

This is from 10/25:

This one is from 12/15 - what a difference!

My hair is definitely thickening up and I'm all too thrilled! I love this style because when I wake up, I just undo the knots and have cute little crinkly locs! :-)

2 months!

So! It's officially 2 months *grin* I am LOVING my hair each and every day! My hair REALLY fits me! I wish I started sooner, but of course! Each day I look in the mirror and smile at the progress my hair is making! I love the fuzzies! LOVE them! They give each loc character!

Day 1, 2 weeks, 2 months - back of head comparison

I am excited that my hair is filling in and getting thicker because I can do different styles! When I first got my hair done, I could only pin it up with a bobby pin or curl it with my curlers.  Now I can gather the front and pull it back and it has volume, lol! (It's the little things that make me happy!)

So since my last post, I haven't used any products on my hair and haven't done a retightening! Over the past 7 days I've washed/rinsed my hair in the morning and I LOVE the results! I think I will continue to do this! It makes my hair fuller and I love the little curlies at the ends of my locs :-)

I think I'm going to go through the end of the year with out a re-ti, or product(Sea salt loc tightening spray)! My hair just likes water, so it should be cool! Um, that's about it for now! No budding or anything like that to report, but all in due time!

Ciao,

1.5 months

Hola! So it's been 1.5 months with me and my baby locs and I LOVE it!

So let's recap:

*I did a re-ti on Oct 31 using my home made tool.
*I also purchased Nappy-n-Happy sea salt loc tightening spray - smells good, I can't tell if it's doing anything though *shrug* price is good, but shipping is ridiculous! And the bottle could be better. The spritzer part is constantly getting stuck, annoying. I think I will just make my own sea salt and lemon juice spray.
*I found an old topic on Nappturality that recently got updated about a 6-week, use nothing/do nothing to your locs challenge! Love that idea! So a couple days ago I stopped using the spray (the only product I've been using on my hair) and I just did my first reti on Halloween, so I'm 3 weeks into the "do nothing" part and am beginning the "use nothing" phase! I think my hair will be better for it!
*Nothing has really changed with my hair. I have one little loc in the front that looks like it's trying to lock up - so cute! but other than that I have T O N S of loose hairs, I guess due to the loose curl of my hair? I don't really know though, but I'm not worried about them.  They will find a home somewhere soon!

Two Weeks

Hello! So I happened to take a peek at the back of my head and was pleasantly surprised to see less scalp! lol! that thrilled me! I also met this fab guy from Trinidad this weekend, who is 3 yrs into his locs, and he said he loved my little locs, said they were cute :-)

Of course I had serious loc envy, haha! his hair was GORGEOUS! He was giving me product suggestions, but I have not used any products and don't plan on it for quite some time.  With my hair being interlocked, my hair, nor scalp have needed anything thus far except water :-)

Here are some pictures to show you:

this is day 1 - look at ALL that scalp lol!!

This is 2 weeks, see the difference! :-)

This is a closeup for texture. See all my fuzzy hair, I LOVE it!

That's all for now! quick little updates for you and me!
Hope everyone had a great weekend, I know I did!

Loving my Hair! (And so is everybody else!)

So last Monday when I got to work I got TONS of compliments on my hair :-) I was pretty thrilled because I love my hair so much and it's fab that other people did too!

While out this weekend, debuting my new week old babies to the party scene, this guy was playing with my hair telling me how much he liked my "dreads" and how cute they were and he liked that my hair smelled good, LOL! hahahaha! people are hilarious!

Of course I adore my hair and am totally loving my new look! below are some pics of some styles I've worn with my new hair. Ciao for now, *B*

For this I just twisted up the front, secured with bobby pins and put the rest of my hair on my soft rollers to get curls:

Out again with my FAB hair :-)

First day @ work! (2 days old)
