2.5 years! [Updated!]

It's been 2.5 years already! Super awesome! I'm LOVING my hair! It just gets more and more fabulous!

My friend mentioned to me the other day just how very "B" my locs are! We were going through some old pics when my hair was loose and curly and everyone agrees, my dreads are so very ME!

I haven't twisted or interlocked my hair since July 2010 and don't plan on it! My (semi)freeformed dreads are fab just the way they are! Many have grown together to be stronger and I've even combined quite a few around the edges.

Here are a few new pics!  I've got to upload my pics from vacay where my hair got lightened a bit! Can't wait til the Summer so I can go back to blonde!

Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!!

Pictures!!! Really Red Hair and New Hairstyle!

Ok, this post has lots of pictures! yay! I finally got my hair the bright red that I wanted using Adore Hair color.  I dyed the top half of my head bright red and the bottom half a darker, richer plum color.  I first dyed my hair in November and dyed it again in December.  Adore hair color is just a rinse so it isn't damaging to my hair - BUT the red just fades SO quickly! Anyways, just a quick post! Thanks for stopping by!

2 years: longer locs, red locs

Honestly, time FLEWWWWW by!!! 2 years! 2 years!?!!?!? awesome!!!

I know I haven't written on here since May, but I've definitely been taking pictures ever so often to chronicle any cool changes my locs have gone through!  Basically, I've combined all of my locs around my edges since they were a bit too thin.  Also, I haven't twisted my roots or latched my roots since July 2010 O_o wow right!! But I do LOVE it!

Let's see what else, oh, now I can throw my locs up in a myriad of cute ponytails and updos due to gaining some length, finally! :-)

My locs got super blonde this Summer by using the lightening spray and for my locs' 2nd bday, I dyed my locs two different dark shades of red and brown!  I used L'Oreal Superior Preference in 4R and 4W.  I dyed my top half the more richer red color and the bottom half I dyed the dark brown with a red tint.  I left both colors on for 45 minutes - I have NEVER used an entire bottle of hair dye, let alone TWO whole bottles of hair dye!  I was definitely rinsing my locs for over an hour and even rinsed them again tonight for an hour to ensure ALL dye was completely removed.

Oh, also to commemorate 2 years of locing I wrapped one of my dreads in the back in red, gold, and green wire - I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways, enough chatter - see below for pics of my hair!! Look at that comparison from day one, one year and two years!!!!

Ciao and thanks as always for reading and stopping by!!

All I can say is my little locs have come a LONG way! and I plan to have these fab locs on my head for a LONG time!

Peace!!

1.5 years and lighter locs!

That's cool! :-) So the close of April will be the end of my 19th month of having a head of fab locs! yay! I love them more and more each day! I've recently been toying with the idea of what it would be like to have my head of curls back, but then I think about all the time I've invested in my locs and snap out of it. quick! I love my hair and can't wait to see what the rest of this year and many more bring!

So lately I've totally been missing my lighter hair and want to dye my hair but don't want a head full of one color locs! So I was just going to use Sun-In like I did last year, BUT it hasn't been that sunny and warm enough for me yet to go lounge outside and let the sun lighten my hair. Good thing for John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Controlled Lightening Spray!

I LOOOOOOOVE this stuff!!!! All I had to do was spray on and apply heat to activate the formula. Since it's heat activated, I used my blow dryer for like 2-3 minutes after I sprayed it on.  I got it two week's ago and applied it twice that day. I saw a slight change and decided I would do it twice a day for a week. *note - all this heat on my hair made my scalp DRY! so after a couple days of using this spray, I made a nice oil conditioning spray with coconut oil and added Jamaican Black Castor Oil to my shampoo to restore some much needed moisture to my locs!*

Anyways, after using it for a week, see below for the FABULOUS results!!!!!!!!!!!

I love it and can't wait for the sun to get really hot again so I can use Sun-In to go even lighter!

I've started to notice some length (I can put them in a pony tail!! cheaaa!) and my locs seem to be getting a bit thicker! yay!!! I have to use a bigger clip to put my hair up than before, score!!! :-) Anyways, check the pics below! And as always, thanks for reading!
Ciao, *B*

It's the little things that matter lol! look at that tiny little clip I was using to hold my hair up - this was 2 months-  compared to the one I'm using now :-)

Now

These are pics of my little ponytail! *Side bar* ugh! Wearing my hair up all day gives me the wickedest headache, EVER! So, I don't wear my hair up like that often!
